Andrew is the primary trainer at Royal Port K-9 and the Training Director for Royal Port K-9's Working Dog Training Group. Andrew has an extensive knowledge of canine psychology and learning theories, understands "drives" in dogs and can read dogs very effectively. He has spent countless hours studying canines - reading books, enrolling in on-line modules and attending seminars in person to gain a deeper understanding of our canine counterparts. He has an unwavering passion for mans best friend and leverages every opportunity to get in front of dogs to practice his skills and hone his craft. Everything from pet obedience to local police dogs, Andrew is always honored to step in front of dogs - as the dogs teacher - to work them safely and enhance their skillset.

Lesley is a true advocate for dogs and an ambassador for all things RPK9. She is very active within the company handling everything from coordinating training schedules to answering questions that we receive through our social media feeds. She spends countless hours traveling around the region for training and is always lending a helping hand to grab photos or video footage. She is the primary coordinator for the apparel and merchandise we sell and handles all of the acquisitions of materials needed. Her preferred breed is Labrador Retrievers although she's quite handy on the leash with working dogs during protection & bite work. She has a thorough understanding of the command structure that RPK9 trains and jumps in often when assistance is needed.

Megan has been around dogs her whole life. Her first dog was a Yorkshire Terrier named "Bubbles" that was a loyal family companion for nearly 14 years. Her current dog is a Silver Labrador Retriever named "Rubi". Megan has an unwavering love for animals and enjoys playing with and caring for them. As the Kennel Tech for RPK9, Megan's responsibilities include feeding, exercising and rotating dogs & puppies for free time outside. She is an integral part of the operation as she assists in everything from Board & Train dogs, young litters of puppies and inventory dogs all the way through our personal animals. She has a great understanding of how and what we train, and is very beneficial in reinforcing the behaviors we're training throughout the dogs journey. If you bump into her, be sure and give her a pat on the back. If your pup has boarded or trained with us, I'm confident Megan has gave them some extra treats and love during their stay.
Dogs have been a part of our lives even since childhood. In 2019, we decided to take a different path with our newest German Shepherd puppy. The goal was to help that dog be the best she is genetically capable of being. We found a local training club and started attending regularly. As time progressed, we added a few dogs and found ourselves training more and more in everything from basic to advanced obedience & agility as well as personal protection, sport / competition and police dog tactics.
Royal Port K-9 was born in 2020 with a primary goal of raising, training and producing high quality working K-9's. Our mission is simple: To produce “World Class” Working K-9’s for Tactical and Practical Operations.
Over the next couple of years, our business would take a slightly different course. As we achieved new levels of success, dog owners and handlers started reaching out to us for help in reaching their goals with their dogs. While we still remain true to Our Mission, RPK9 has evolved out of necessity to service East Tennessee's surrounding and neighboring regions with quality dog training services, protection / working dog sales, quality dog foods and industry leading training tools.
Today, we offer a host of products and dog training services to the public and municipal organizations. We work with everything from pet to police dogs, all breeds, all ages. We train for and compete in Protection Sport events around the region hosted by various working dog groups in affiliation with Working Dogs of America. We also do scenario based training to prepare dogs for real world encounters in various environments.
